  • Do not leave your card out where it is easily seen, such as a bar or café.
  • When using the AM Bank app, remember to secure your device (eg. mobile phone or tablet computer) in the same way as your card.

  • Set up auto-lock and enable passcode lock to prevent unauthorized access of your handsets.

  • Change your password regularly and take precautions to keep it safe.
  • Choose a passphrase password that is hard to guess or identify as relating to you.
  • Do not use the same password you use for other purposes.
  • Do not disclose your password to anyone.
  • Do not share your personal information with a non-trusted third party.
  • Use antivirus software to remove Spyware from your computer on a regular basis, as these programs record information about your Internet use and transmit it without your permission.
  • Always log off Online Banking session properly when you've finished using it.
  • Beware of websites offering free software or applications - don't download software unless you are sure the site is genuine and the application is not harmful.
  • Look for actual phone numbers or physical addresses for the company on the site if you're unsure whether a website is genuine or reputable.
  • Be careful about using other computers - only access Online Banking on computers you know have up-to-date security software.
  • Protect your home WiFi (wireless) network if you are using one by setting a password and changing it on a regular basis.
  • Do not use unsecured WiFi (wireless) networks either public or private.
  • Use only sites with https in the address (encrypted sites), which convert data into unreadable gibberish before sending it and keep your private information safe online. AM Bank is already encrypted, although you can double-check by looking for a padlock symbol in your web address bar and the letters "https" at the beginning of the web address.
  • Enable two-factor authentication / OTP. One-time password, also known as one-time pin, is a password that is valid for only one login session or transaction, AM Bank offers an extra layer of security known as two-factor authentication (2FA) to protect account holders. Two-factor authentication requires you to enter an extra verification credential before you can access your account.
  • Create a strong password for your online bank account. It should incorporate lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers, and even symbols where allowed. Don't stop there, though; change the password regularly, and don't use that same password for any other website or app.
