The Heartbleed Bug

The OpenSSL organization publicized a recently identified vulnerability, called Heartbleed.  This vulnerability could allow for exposure of sensitive data submitted to internet sites.  American Bank Internet banking solutions do not leverage OpenSSL.  As always, we want to ensure that customer information is safe.  We encourage you to change your password frequently, and monitor activity on your account.  If you use the same username and password for any other sites that may use OpenSSL for internet security, we suggest you change your password now.   When changing passwords, please go directly to our website.  Do not click on any link contained in an email that asks you to update your credentials, as the link could be a phishing attack.

Beware of automated, fraudulent phone calls stating your American Bank card has been blocked.  Contact your local office if you have questions or concerns.
